The most expensive leaks are the ones you can't see. A pinhole in a line under the slab or inside a wall can run for weeks — quietly soaking the foundation, feeding mold and inflating your water bill — before it ever shows itself. Premium Plumbing & Drain has been finding and fixing hidden leaks across Modesto, Turlock, Tracy, Stockton, Merced and Ceres since 2006.
Signs of a Hidden Leak
A quick test you can do yourself: turn off every fixture and appliance that uses water, then look at your water meter. If it's still moving, water is going somewhere it shouldn't — and it's time to call.
Non-Invasive Detection: Find It Without Tearing It Up
The old way to find a hidden leak was to start opening walls and jackhammering concrete until someone got lucky. We don't work that way. Using electronic leak detection equipment — acoustic listening gear that hears water escaping under pressure, line locating, and pressure testing to isolate which line is losing water — we narrow the leak down to a precise spot before anything is opened up. That means the repair happens through one deliberate access point, not a demolition hunt.
Shut off your home's main water valve to stop the flow, then call (209) 669-2090. The sooner the leak is located, the less water ends up under your foundation.

Slab Leak Repair Options
A slab leak — a water line leaking beneath your home's concrete foundation — sounds scarier than it usually is once it's been precisely located. Depending on where the leak is and the condition of the line, the fix is typically one of three approaches:
- Direct access repair. Open the slab at the exact leak point and repair the pipe. Sensible when the leak is accessible and the rest of the line is healthy.
- Reroute. Abandon the leaking section under the slab and run a new line overhead or through walls. Often the cleaner choice — no concrete work, and the new line is serviceable.
- Repipe. When a line has failed more than once, replacing the run ends the leak-repair-leak cycle instead of chasing the next pinhole.
Which option makes sense depends on your home, and we'll lay out the trade-offs plainly with upfront pricing before any work begins. If the leak turns out to be at a fixture or a visible supply line rather than hidden pipe, our fixtures and repairs team handles it on the spot.
Stop Water Damage Before It Starts
Water damage is a compounding problem: what starts as a hidden drip becomes swollen flooring, stained drywall, mold remediation and foundation issues. Finding a leak early is dramatically cheaper than repairing what a leak leaves behind. If something feels off — a bill that doesn't add up, a smell you can't place — it costs nothing to call and talk it through. And if your symptoms point to a drain or sewer line instead of a water line, we handle that too with a camera inspection of the sewer line.
